I decided to take the test on Beliefnet instead of writing about the book that we read. After answering the questions, the test told me i was at 100% Christian. I am christian so it was right about me! It also told me the next 20 closest religions that i qualified for or whatever you wanna call it. That was a pretty cool test, and it was accurate for me. But im gonna go now and look at more stuff on that site.

Amadeus
The above link is a review of the movie Amadeus. I think the review was pretty decent. They talked about how happy people are pleased by the happiness of others, while the miserable are poisoned by envy. Milos Forman's "Amadeus" is not about the genius of Mozart but about the envy of his rival Salieri, whose curse was to have the talent of a third-rate composer but the ear of a first-rate music lover, so that he knew how bad he was, and how good Mozart was. That is all very true Salieri was tortured every time he saw a new piece of mozarts work, or even heard his name or laugh. They also talk about a moving seen, the one where mozart is on his deathbed and salieri is at the foot of the bed trying to get one last piece of work out of him before he dies. He also had the intentions to take credit for the piece and dedicate it to Mozart at his funeral. The review touched on a lot of things in the movie, and the final opinion was that it was a great movie that won awards. The part about winning awards is even better when the movie is about a classical composer and 98% of Americans never even turn on a classical radio station. I think that this is a good movie for English 105, it shows old time periods so we could see what it was like back then. It also teaches you not to judge a book by its cover. You would think that a classical composer was dorky and boring, but not mozart. He loved to have a good time, party, drink and was a cocky person.

The book that I recomend everyone to read is called "A Child Called It". "A Child Called It" is an autobiography written by Dave Pelzer. "A Child Called It" is a book written about Dave Pelzer's childhood when he was abused and tortured by his alcoholic, abusive mother. Dave was a middle child. He had two brothers, one younger than him and one older. When he was first born until he was about the age of 7 he was loved and wanted. Not too much longer after that his mother became very abusive towards him and he was absolutely nothing to his family. His father couldn't even hold his mother back from her drunken outrages and horrible acts. Dave's room was in the cold garage and he was forced to sleep on an old army cot while he wore the same clothes for days, weeks, months, even years. His mother made him run to school and she refused to let him reveal their little "secret" of him being abused at home. Not too much past the age of 10 was Dave even considered a boy let alone his mother's own son anymore, he was known as "it". Most of the time he was not fed. If he was lucky his mother would give him scraps from the other children's meals, however that was only when he did a semi-good deed. I think this is a good, well-written book and I recommend it to everyone. It shows what some kids were put through throughout their childhood years and how upsetting a life of a young, innocent child's life could be. "A Child Called It" was Dave's first book and there are also 3 more sequels to this book. This book not only shows how terrible and cold a parent could actually be to their children, but it also tells of life's lessons of learning and making it through a lot of struggles and hard times.

Eminem
I chose to make my link on Eminem. The website I linked to is www.Eminem.com. This site has almost everything that you would ever want to know about eminem. If you want to know about somebody associated with Eminem there are links to take you to other sites. This site has pictures, songs, news, links to related websites, tour dates and even a online store. The thing I like about Eminem is that he is unique and I think he is the best rapper there has ever been. Not to be prejudice or anything but I'm also glad that he is white, because before him there wasn't any good white rappers. Rap was known as blacks music, but now its beginning to mix more and be accepted by more people. Nobody can compare with Eminem he is the sickest rapper alive!!!

Michelangelo
Michelangelo \ Buonarroti
In this site you can find anything that you have ever wanted to know about Michelangelo. It contains everything from when michelangelo was born up to the day he died, including all his works of art. The site also has links to other websites where you can view other works of art. I learned that 60 years after Michelangelo died his poetry was published. He dedicated some of his poetry to Vittoria Colonna, one of his greatest loves and one of his most intelligent colleagues. Anybody enjoying art or doing research may find this site very usefull.

Entry for page 67 question #9...
The question asked: Where do you find yourself in the seesaw conflict between Apollo and Dionysus? Which side of yourself needs work?
I have a good head on my shoulders, I know what I want in life. I want to be successful, yet I also want to have fun while doing it. I find myself Apollonian in the fact that I have goals in life, I am getting my education and taking steps towards my goals. I also know I am Dionysian too. The Dionysian side of me comes out when, the Apollonian side says "It's time to do homework"...The Dionysian side answers right back saying "See what's going on tonight, go out and have fun and do your homework tomorrow!"
There is a definite struggle going on in my life right now between Apollonian side and the Dionysian side. On one hand I want to do things and be very organized, but I get sidetracked and taken control of by the Dionysian side.
I try everyday to be more apollonian with the things that have to be done. With the rest of my time I would like be dionysian and have fun.
